Antara was admitted as a Lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in November 2024. Prior to joining Birchgrove Legal in June 2024, she worked at various boutique firms in Sydney, specialising in commercial law, corporate law, regulatory law and class actions. Antara was a key member of the civil practice group where she assisted a team of leading litigators in complex class actions and was extensively involved in the preparation of reviews, affidavits and briefings.
During her time as a paralegal, Antara developed critical research and drafting skills which transferred to her tertiary studies. Antara received a high-distinction grade in her honours thesis entitled, ‘Temple Entry Movements and the Rights of Dalit Women in National and International Law.’ Antara is an immigrant who has been living in Australia since 2019. She was an international student at university and is particularly passionate about human rights law, social justice, and international jurisprudence.
She brings her empathetic approach to the law to Birchgrove Legal where she hopes to continue specialising in matters relating to the Racial Discrimination Act, the progression of related complaints to the Australian Human Rights Commission, and other rights-based areas of law like employment law, not-for-profit law and more.
In her free time, Antara loves to go brunching with her friends and going to the movie theatre. She is an avid film and tv-show lover and has the best recommendations from comedies to dramas!
